ABSTRACT

Objective To study the contents of puerarin in decoction with different compatibility ratios of Astragali Radix and Puerariae Lobatae Radix; To verify the rationality of compatibility ratios of Huangqi Gegen Decoction and Yu y e Decoction; To provide references for clinical medication. Methods Different compatibility ratios of Astragali Radix and Puerariae Lobatae Radix were set as 0:1, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4. SinoChrom ODS-BP (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm) was used as the chromatographic column to detect the contents of puerarin;methanol-0.1% phosphoric acid (35:65) was used as the mobile phase with 0.5 mL/min flow rate; sample volume was 20 μL; the wavelength was 250 nm. Results The regression equation of puerarin was Y=66 449.269 1X-175 665.663 1 (r=0.999 6) in the range of 5 to 300 μg/mL, showing a good linear relationship. The repeatability, stability and recovery rate were fine as well. The contents of puerarin were (2.506 7±0.025 8)%, (2.526 7±0.071 2)%, (2.863 3± 0.086 4)%, (2.956 7±0.119 6)%, (2.835 0±0.078 7)%, (2.480 0±0.072 4)%, (2.530 0±0.064 8)%, and (2.183 3±0.128 9)% in different compatibility ratios of Astragali Radix and Puerariae Lobatae Radix with 0:1, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4, respectively. Conclusion When the compatibility ratios of Astragali Radix and Puerariae Lobatae Radix are 2:1. 3:1, and 4:1, the contents of puerarin in decoction are the highest. This study verifies that the compatibility ratios of Astragali Radix and Puerariae Lobatae Radix in classical prescriptions are rational, which can be the optimal compatibility ratios in clinic.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the manifestation characteristics of fundus fluorescence angiography [FFA] and its values in diagnosing diabetic retinopathy through comparing direct ophthalmoscopy

Methods: Two hundred fifty patients [500 eyes] who were suspected as diabetic retinopathy and admitted to the hospital between February 2015 and December 2016 were selected. They underwent direct ophthalmoscopy and FFA. The manifestation characteristics of FFA in the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy were summarized. The two examination methods were compared

Results: In the diagnosis with direct ophthalmoscopy, 375 eyes out of 500 eyes were diagnosed as diabetic retinopathy [75%]; there were 74 eyes at stage I, 88 eyes at stage II, 92 eyes at stage III, 83 eyes of stage IV, 28 eyes of stage V and 10 eyes of stage VI. In the diagnosis with FFA, 465 eyes out of 500 eyes were diagnosed as diabetic retinopathy [93%]; there were 94 eyes at stage I, 110 eyes at stage II, 112 at stage III, 92 eyes at stage IV, 41 eyes at stage V and 16 eyes at stage VI. The detection rate of diabetic retinopathy using FFA was significantly higher than that using direct ophthalmoscopy [P<0.05]. FFA found that 316 eyes had non-proliferative retinopathy [67.96%], 75 eyes had pre-proliferative lesions [16.13%], 149 eyes had proliferative lesions [32.04%], 135 eyes had diabetic maculopathy [29.03%] and 31 eyes had diabetic optic disc lesions [6.67%]

Conclusion: The detection rate of diabetic retinopathy using FFA is higher than that using direct ophthalmoscopy. FFA could accurately determine clinical stage. Therefore, it is an important approach in treatment efficacy evaluation and treatment guidance, suggesting a significant application value

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate risk factors bringing on death and the conversion factors of renal function in the elder acute re-nal failure (ABF) and establish the prevention and treatment measure in clinic to reduce mortality. Methods The clinical information of 143 elder ARF cases which were treated by two hospitals for many years was studied. The risk factors possible bringing on death in the elder ARF were studied by using binary logistic regression pattern. The clinical factors possible affecting the conversion of renal function in the eld-er ARF were analyzed. Results Binary logistic regression pattern study showed that heart failure, respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleed-ing, hepatic failure, coma, organ failure number and lower blood pressure among 25 study factors were found to be the risk factors bringing on death, and heart failure, respiratory failure, organ failure number and whether chronic renal insufficiency were the most important factors of affecting recover of renal function in the elder ARF. Conclusion The effective prevention and treatment measure should be adopted in the elder ARF with these risk factors so as to reduce mortality and increase the recover rate of renal function.

ABSTRACT

PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) is the hot spot of hospital information construction research and DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) is the international standard about data compression and translation of medical image and relational information. Supporting DICOM standard is the necessary condition for medical image devices to join into PACS net. In making reforms in the old fashioned medical devices in hospitals, it is necessary to add DICOM interface for medical image devices. In this paper, DICOM information model is introduced and software system is implemented with Visual C + + programming, especially the writing, reading and C-STORE service in communication function are introduced in detail.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPVs) that occurred in Zhenfeng county, Guizhou province in 2004 and to discover wild-poliovirus, vaccine-derived poliovirus (VDPVs) and other vaccine-associated poliovirus which could cause clinical poliomyelitis.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Field epidemiological studies at the epidemic area and collecting acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) case and contact stool specimen for virus identification and nucleotide sequencing. Analysis on data related to annual reports on stool specimens surveillance which involved AFP case and contacts in the resent years in Zhenfeng county.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Type-I VDPVs had been isolated from 2 AFP cases and 3 contact stool specimen in Wanlan village of Zhenfeng. After the first cVDPVs case was identified, there were 3 cases identified of having other vaccine-associated poliovirus of type-I or type-II in the 5 case of AFP that met the criteria of clinical poliomyelitis. The result of virological surveillance on polio showed that the EV isolation rate (55.1%) of Zhenfeng county was higher than the rate from the whole province of the same year (23.2%). The poliovirus (PV) isolation rate (36.8%) was obviously higher in 2004 than in the previous years. In the 16 PVs strains, the type-I accounted for 43.8% which was significantly higher than the average level (18.3%) from the whole province.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Data indicated that the type-I VDPVs had been circulating (cVDPVs) in Zhenfeng county in Guizhou province. Clinical poliomyelitis was caused by non-VDPVs. The increased PV infection and the decreasing rate of vaccination in the general population were responsible for the epidemic of type-I cVDPVs at this time. Monitoring and evaluation on the rate of routine immunization program and prediction of the trend of epidemic should be strenthened.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the effect of anti-atrial fibrillation of Philos DDDR pacemaker on atrial tachyarrhythmia.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Thirty-eight patients with sick sinus syndrome and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) were implanted with Philos DDDR pacemaker. After implantation, auto-Mode-Switch (AMS) function was switched "on" and AF preventive algorithms were "off" in all cases. The number of AMS, atrial premature beats, heart rate and the percentage of atrial and ventricular pacing were recorded by pacemaker diagnostic function for one-month after procedure. AF preventive algorithms function with "middle" (approx 8 bpm) was then switched on and the same parameters as above from the database of pacemaker diagnostic function were collected for additional one month.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The symptoms of dizziness, dyspnoea, and palpitation in the majority of patients were dramatically improved regardless of whether the AF preventive algorithms function was switched "on" or "off" after pacemaker implantation. There were no significant clinical changes in most patients when AF preventive algorithms were "on". However, 5 cases (13.2%) had palpitations and short of breath. These symptoms were relieved by changing the algorithms from "middle to slight (approx 4 bpm)". When AF preventive algorithms were switched on, atrial premature beats were reduced significantly (P < 0.05) with a dramatic increase in atrial pacing percentage and heart rate (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in AMS (P > 0.05) between the two groups of AF preventive algorithms function switching "on" and "of", indicating that atrial tachyarrhythmias were not inhibited by anti-atrial fibrillation pacemaker.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>This study suggested that atrial fibrillation and atrial tachycardia were not reduced by implantation of an anti-atrial fibrillation Philos DDDR pacemaker, although atrial premature beats decreased significantly with increasing atrial pacing percentage when AF preventive algorithms were in "middle" and "slight".</p>
